Day 01: Phnompenh - Takeo - Kampot (L)
This morning we leave Phnom Penh and head south initially visiting Tonle Bati where you can explore the small yet picturesque Angkorian temple of Ta Prohm. On the banks of the nearby river are a line of bamboo shacks with hammocks, a great place for a relaxing drink. We get on our car to the quiet town of Takeo before taking a short cruise to Angkor Borei town, located just a few kilometer navigation from the Vietnam border. There is a small museum which displays several reproductions of sculptures from the nearby ruins and few artifacts dating as far back as the 4th century. After seeing this pleasant place, we continue our boat trip to visit a pre-Angkorian style temple of Phnom Da and a nearby temple of Asram Maharosei. The steep path over some big rocks makes Asram Maharosei different from other temples in Cambodia.
We continue south following the picturesque drive to Kampot. The southern coast of Cambodia, edging the border with Vietnam, once served as a glamorous seaside resort for the French in the early 1900s. Evocative of the French Riviera towns along the Mediterranean coast; the towns of Kep, Sihanoukville and Kampot have tree-lined, wide roads fringing the ocean, large statues, luxury villas, casinos and even a palace overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. Overnight at hotel in Kampot.
Day 02: Kampot - Bokor National Park - Kampot (B.L)
Today you visit Bokor National Park where you will drive up the winding 35km road through lush jungle scenery to the cooler summit hill station. The Bokor Hill Station was originally developed as a playground for the colonial and Khmer elite in the early 20th century, it’s cooler climate and lush scenery provided a welcome relief from the lowland heat. However, as with much of Cambodia, Bokor’s fortunes changed with the rise of the Khmer Rouge, the area saw heavy fighting and today many of the buildings are pock-marked and shattered from heavy machine gun and rocket fire. The ghostly remains have a unique ambiance and can be especially eerie when the clouds descend and the fog drifts in and out.
On the way back we visit fruit farms such as: Durian Farm, such as mangosteen, rambutan, Mak Prang, pineapple, grapefruit, custard apple and coconut. It is also the centre of the Cambodian pepper culture. Kampot’s Chamkar Mrich or pepper farms are renowned for producing one of the world’s finest peppers. Overnight at hotel in Kampot.
Day 03: Kampot - Koh Tonsay (B.L)
This morning city tours to Kep Surme. The seaside resort of Kep is on a small headland, has a 6km palm-fringed road extending along the coastline and is a popular day trip from Kampot. It was founded as a colonial retreat for the French elite in 1908. Cambodian high rollers continued the tradition, flocking here to enjoy gambling and water sports. Little remains but skeletons of buildings as locals were forced to loot the villas for, materials to sell to the Vietnamese to survive the famine of 1979 and 1980. We stop by Phnom Chnorkk Caves – Pre-Angkorian ruin set in a limestone cave amongst stalagmites and stalactites that are slowly growing back into the ruin. Small, 4th-5th century AD brick structure associated with the ancient state of Funan. A bit of carving is still visible. Look for the limestone formations near the entrance of the cave in the shapes of elephants. We catch a boat for the journey to the lovely and secluded Koh Tonsay or (Rabbit Island). Koh Tunsay is a natural resort located 4.5km southeast of Kep City. Koh Tunsay, with its two white sand beaches and shallow water provides an excellent location for swimming. We will spend time for swimming, sunbathing or walking around the island and overnight on Island. The main beach is lined with coconut palms and this is where you will find bamboo beach hut. However, the solitude, beautiful sunset, incredibly starry night, and falling asleep to the sound of waves breaking on the beach more than make up for this…
Day 04:  Rabbit Island - Ream National Park - Sihanoukville (B.L)
Morning we farewell Koh Tonsay by passing by Crab Market and Salt Farm – Kampot is the only place in Cambodia with salt fields. Kampot’s salt is of a more natural quality than salts produced in foreign countries, since no factories are used in its developmental process. We then travel by roads along the southern coast towards Sihanouk Ville, which has long been a place of relaxation for Cambodians. We stop at Ream National Park and enjoy a pleasant day away from the crowds in Ream National Park, just 30 minutes away from Sihanouk Ville. Here, take a boat trip through the stunning mangrove forest and on to a beautiful stretch of tropical sand beach in the National Park area. Relax for a bit over here and take in the natural beauty of this place, before continuing to Sihanouk Ville. Overnight at hotel in Sihanouk Ville.
Day 05 – 06: Sihanoukville (B)
You will have full day free to enjoy Sihanouk Ville beach, a most beautiful beach of Cambodia. Tourist would be free at their leisure of sun-sea bathing without transfer, guide and meals. Overnight at hotel in Sihanouk Ville.
Day 07: Sihanoukville - Phnompenh - Departure (B)
To day we have a half day free for relaxation. Off the beach you can rent a boat to explore the nearby coastal islands or the Ream national park which is well known for the mangrove forest and the Eco-system. These optional activities are not included, however our guide will be on hand to advise you with valuable information. In the early afternoon we depart Sihanouk Ville for Phnom Penh without guide and traverse the spectacular rural landscape. Arrive in Phnom Penh, transfer to airport for departure to next destination
