Vietnam Laos Itinerary 2 Weeks

Day 01: Saigon Arrival (D)

Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Saigon, you will be warmly welcomed by your local guide and driver, then transferred to your hotel in the city center.

After check-in, enjoy some free time to relax after your international flight or take a gentle walk around the lively streets of Saigon.

In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant and overnight in Saigon.

Day 02: Saigon – Cu Chi Tunnels – Saigon (B.L)

After breakfast, depart for the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, located about 70 km northwest of Saigon.

On arrival, visit this remarkable underground network used during wartime. You will learn how the tunnels served as living areas, storage rooms, communication routes, field hospitals, and shelters. After the visit, return to Saigon for lunch.

In the afternoon, enjoy a city tour including the Reunification Palace, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, and Ben Thanh Market. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 03: Saigon – My Tho – Saigon (B.L)

After breakfast, travel to My Tho, the gateway to the Mekong Delta.

Upon arrival, take a boat trip along the Mekong River and discover the peaceful life of local people living along the waterways. Visit small islands, fruit orchards, local workshops, and enjoy tropical fruits with traditional music.

Continue by small sampan through narrow canals shaded by water coconut trees. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, return to Saigon and overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Saigon – Da Nang – Hoi An by Flight (B.L)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Da Nang.

Upon arrival, meet your guide and driver, then visit some highlights of Da Nang such as the Marble Mountains or My Khe Beach, depending on flight time.

Continue to Hoi An, a charming ancient town listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After lunch, check in at your hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour of Hoi An Ancient Town, including the Japanese Covered Bridge, old merchant houses, Chinese assembly halls, and the colorful local market. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 05: Hoi An – Da Nang – Hue (B.L)

After breakfast, leave Hoi An for Hue via Da Nang.

On the way, drive along the scenic coastal road and cross the famous Hai Van Pass, offering beautiful views over the sea and mountains.

Stop for photos at Lang Co Beach before continuing to Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam.

Upon arrival, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, then visit the Imperial Citadel, once home to the Nguyen Dynasty.

Check in at your hotel and enjoy free time in the evening. Overnight in Hue.

Day 06: Hue City Tour (B.L)

After breakfast, start your discovery of Hue with a visit to Thien Mu Pagoda, one of the most iconic religious sites in Vietnam.

Continue to visit the Imperial Citadel if not fully explored the previous day, then discover the royal tombs of the Nguyen emperors, such as Minh Mang Tomb or Khai Dinh Tomb.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit Dong Ba Market, where you can experience local daily life and taste some Hue specialties. Overnight in Hue.

Day 07: Hue – Hanoi City Tour by Flight (B.L)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.

Upon arrival, meet your guide and driver, then start a city tour of Hanoi. Visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first national university, and continue to Hoan Kiem Lake with Ngoc Son Temple.

After lunch, explore the Old Quarter by walking or cyclo ride through its lively streets.

Depending on time, you may also visit the outside of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the One Pillar Pagoda. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 08: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B.L.D)

After breakfast, depart from Hanoi to Halong Bay, one of the most beautiful natural wonders of Vietnam.

Upon arrival, board your cruise and enjoy a welcome drink before checking into your cabin.

Lunch will be served on board while cruising among thousands of limestone islands and islets.

In the afternoon, take part in cruise activities such as visiting a cave, kayaking, swimming, or relaxing on the sundeck. Dinner and overnight on board in Halong Bay.

Day 09: Halong Bay – Hanoi (B.L.D)

Wake up early to enjoy the peaceful sunrise over Halong Bay.

After breakfast, continue cruising through the magnificent seascape. You may join a short excursion, visit a floating village, or enjoy more time on deck.

Brunch or lunch will be served on board before disembarkation. Return to Hanoi in the afternoon.

In the evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 10: Hanoi – Vientiane by Flight (B)

After breakfast, enjoy free time until transfer to the airport for your flight to Vientiane, the peaceful capital of Laos.

Upon arrival, meet your local guide and driver, then transfer to your hotel.

Depending on arrival time, you may enjoy a short orientation walk along the Mekong River or relax at leisure. Overnight in Vientiane.

Day 11: Vientiane – Luang Prabang by Flight (B.L)

After breakfast, visit the main highlights of Vientiane, including Wat Sisaket, famous for its thousands of Buddha images, and Wat Phra Keo, a former royal temple.

Continue to visit That Luang Stupa, the most important national monument in Laos, and Patuxai Monument, often known as the Victory Gate.

After lunch, transfer to the airport for your flight to Luang Prabang.

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 12: Luang Prabang City Tour (B.L)

After breakfast, discover Luang Prabang, one of the most charming towns in Southeast Asia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Visit Wat Xieng Thong, the most beautiful temple in Luang Prabang, then continue to the Royal Palace Museum, which offers a good introduction to Lao history and culture. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit traditional villages or explore local handicraft workshops.

At the end of the day, climb Mount Phousi to enjoy a panoramic sunset view over the town and the Mekong River. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 13: Luang Prabang – Kuang Si Waterfalls (B.L)

Early in the morning, you may join the traditional alms-giving ceremony, a peaceful and meaningful experience in Lao Buddhist culture.

After breakfast, depart for Kuang Si Waterfalls, one of the most beautiful natural sites in Laos. On the way, visit local villages and learn more about traditional rural life.

Upon arrival, enjoy a walk through the forest and admire the turquoise pools and cascading waterfalls. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

Return to Luang Prabang in the afternoon. Free time to explore the night market in the evening. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 14: Luang Prabang – Departure (B)

After breakfast, enjoy free time at leisure until transfer to Luang Prabang International Airport for your departure flight. End of your 2-week Vietnam and Laos journey.
