In the morning, we will take you to visit a lively and fascinating fish market near Hoi An. This bustling wholesale market is where local fishermen bring in their overnight catch directly from the sea. The seafood is exceptionally fresh and offers a wonderful insight into the daily life of the local fishing community.
After the market visit, return to Hoi An for breakfast at a renowned Cao Lau restaurant, where you will enjoy the town’s most authentic and iconic noodle specialty. Continue to Tra Que Herb Village, located on the outskirts of Hoi An. Famous for its organic farming methods, the village supplies fresh herbs and vegetables to many local restaurants. Here, you will meet local farmers, learn about various aromatic herbs, and discover traditional cultivation techniques that have been preserved for generations.
Before lunch, visit a traditional local bakery to observe the production of freshly baked Vietnamese bread. Then head to the famous Morning Glory Restaurant to join a hands-on cooking class led by Ms. Vy, followed by a delicious lunch featuring your own creations.
The experience begins with a one-hour guided market tour, where you will discover Vietnamese ingredients and learn how to select the freshest produce. This is followed by an introduction to the art of Vietnamese cuisine, including the use of vegetables, herbs, spices, and traditional cooking methods.
During the practical session, you will learn essential preparation and cutting techniques, as well as how to use traditional Vietnamese kitchen tools such as vegetable graters and knives. You will prepare the following dishes:
- Fresh Shrimp Spring Rolls
- Green Papaya Salad
- Grilled Tuna Wrapped in Banana Leaves
- Vietnamese Crispy Pancakes (Banh Xeo)
In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing cyclo ride to Cam Nam Village. Your cyclo will take you from the heart of Hoi An to Cam Nam Bridge, where you will make your first stop to capture beautiful photographs of local activities and the picturesque scenery along the Thu Bon River.
Continuing along the riverbank, you will have another opportunity to stop for panoramic views of Hoi An from the opposite side of the river. The journey then takes you through the peaceful countryside of Cam Nam Village, an area still largely untouched by mass tourism. Here, you will encounter friendly and welcoming local residents and gain an authentic glimpse into their daily lives. As you pass through the village, you may observe traditional homes, family activities, and the warm hospitality of local people.
The cyclo tour concludes at a tranquil canal shaded by lush water coconut palms. Board a local boat and enjoy a leisurely cruise on the Thu Bon River. Along the way, witness everyday riverside activities such as fishing, farming, and clam harvesting, offering a deeper understanding of local life in central Vietnam.
