Day 1 : Full Day excursion to Duong Lam Ancient Village
08:00 AM: Meet your guide and driver at your hotel in Hanoi, then depart for Duong Lam Ancient Village, a peaceful rural village located in the Northern Red River Delta. Known for its traditional architecture and authentic countryside atmosphere, Duong Lam is one of the best-preserved ancient villages in Vietnam.
Upon arrival, enjoy a leisurely walk or bicycle ride through the narrow village lanes. Visit Mong Phu Temple in Mong Phu Hamlet, where the original village gate still remains intact. This ancient communal house is an important cultural site dedicated to national heroes and reflects the traditional village structure of northern Vietnam.
Continue exploring the village by walking or cycling past laterite walls, old wells, communal courtyards, and traditional houses. Along the way, you will have the chance to observe the daily life and farming activities of local people, offering a genuine glimpse into the lifestyle of Vietnamese peasants in the Red River Delta.
Stop to visit two remarkable ancient houses. One is considered among the largest old houses in the village and was built around 200 years ago, while the oldest house dates back approximately 400 years. These houses are excellent examples of traditional Vietnamese architecture, with wooden structures, tiled roofs, peaceful courtyards, and family altars.
Enjoy lunch at a local house, where you can taste simple and authentic home-cooked dishes typical of the countryside.
In the afternoon, visit Ngo Quyen Temple and Phung Hung Temple, both dedicated to great national heroes who played important roles in Vietnam’s history. Continue with a gentle bicycle ride to Mia Pagoda, a beautiful pagoda built in the 15th century and famous for its impressive collection of ancient Buddhist statues.
After the visit, drive back to Hanoi. The tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.
