Day 01: Hanoi City Discovery (L)
08:30 AM : Meet your guide and driver at your hotel and begin your exploration of Hanoi, the charming capital of Vietnam, renowned for its rich history, cultural heritage, and unique blend of Eastern and Western influences.
Your first stop is the Ho Chi Minh Complex, where you will visit the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh (outside view on Mondays, Fridays, and afternoons), his traditional stilt house, and the iconic One Pillar Pagoda, one of Vietnam’s most famous architectural landmarks.
Continue to Tran Quoc Pagoda, beautifully located on the shore of West Lake. Dating back more than 1,500 years, it is considered the oldest Buddhist pagoda in Hanoi.
Next, visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, founded in 1070 and dedicated to Confucius. This remarkable site offers fascinating insights into the country’s long-standing educational traditions.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant featuring authentic Vietnamese cuisine.
In the afternoon, visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, one of the country’s finest museums, showcasing the rich cultural diversity and traditions of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups.
Then embark on a relaxing one-hour cyclo ride through the bustling streets of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, where narrow lanes, colonial buildings, traditional shops, and lively local life create an unforgettable atmosphere.
Continue to the picturesque Hoan Kiem Lake, the symbolic heart of Hanoi. Learn about the legendary tale of the Returned Sword and visit the charming Ngoc Son Temple, situated on a small island connected by the iconic red-painted Huc Bridge.
At around 4:10 PM, attend a performance at the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre, where you will discover one of Vietnam’s most distinctive traditional art forms. Accompanied by live folk music, this unique show vividly depicts scenes from rural life, historical legends, and Vietnamese folklore.
After the performance, return to your hotel or enjoy free time to further explore Hanoi at your own pace.
